Final Assessment

This is the final hairstyle I created from my partner's hair chart. I had 45 minuted to create the hairstyle and managed to complete the hairstyle in time but didn't take the pins out for the photos as that is what we originally wanted to do. When we took the pins out after the curls weren't tight enough to stay still if we originally took the photos like that. Overall I'm happy with results and think the assessment went really well.

This is the final hairstyle I designed made up by my partner. She managed to finish the hairstyle in time and I think the results came out really well. I wish the curls showed more in the photos though! Love the french plait with the pearls - I'm so pleased they came out so well. Overall I was happy with the final looks we made.

Final Hair Style

This is the chart of my final hair design. It was hard to explain my thoughts of this design into a drawing. The design is a development from the collage I made of the hair being flipped to mostly one side and a french plait on the other side. In the collage it was originally just curly hair but after learning all the different techniques of making an Elizabethan hair style I wanted to combine them all. The hair style will be full crimps and loose curls along with plaits and certain sections hair sprayed red. Originally the french plait was going to be lots of plaits twisted together but after experimenting I really didn't like it and felt like it was too much. Instead the french plait looks alot cleaner and matches the hairstyle more. I wanted to add an accessory to the hair and so there are pearls going along the centre of the plait.

The 1940s Interpretation

I thought it'd be interesting to research an old Elizabethan film and how people would accessorize their Queen Elizabeth in their time. This film was made in the 1940s and Elizabeth was played by Flora Robson. I love how there are just as much accessories added as there are in the most recent Queen Elizabeth film.

Contemporary Hair

I love how unique this Elizabethan hairstyle is! It has such a twist with the colours and accessories added to it. I also like that neck accessories match the hair accessories along with the makeup too.
