Frizzing

In my Week 6 session with Seema I learnt the technique on how to frizz hair. First you weave a section of hair in a geysher grip. Put a normal hair grip down the middle of the geysher grip to keep the section stay in place. Use straighteners to heat the section to stay in place. Leave to cool for a while. Once cooled take the grips out and then use an afro comb to make the section frizz out. In the image, the right hair section is in the state after taking the grips out. The section on the left is what it looks like when its mildy combed through and the middle section is the result of the full technique. I love this hair style when it's complete on a full head! If the final assessment for my project was more than an hour I'd use this technique for sure!

3rd Design

This is my 3rd hair design for the contemporary Elizabethan styles. For this style the fringe is smooth over the forehead and tucked behind the ear (depending on length). There are two rows of pin curls and a beehive shape behind the curls. The beehive is to signify the big hair Elizabethans would have. This is my favourite design that I have made out of the 3 and as I now know that my final design needs to suit to me I think this design would suit me the most. I'm looking foward to experimenting with this design this week!

Fish Plaits

During my lesson I learnt how to make a fish plait. This is an image of the plait I made. I think this the plait I find easiest to make and find the most interesting. I'm hoping to use this method in my hairstyles in the future.

Blow Drying

I've learnt the first simple steps of hair inn how to wash and blow dry it. These images are of my first blow dry and what I found most challenging was how to grip the hair onto the brush using the hairdryer and keeping the grip tight. I felt that as I went along drying the hair through each layer I was getting better and improving much more. The only thing I needed to be more aware of was drying the ends of the hair properly so they didn't look frizzed. Overall I'm happy with this result of my first blow dry and I hope I can improve more on how to dry the ends properly.
